ADIBF: Majarra participates in the International Congress of Arabic Publishing and Creative Industries

Majarra will participate in the International Congress of Arabic Publishing and Creative Industries, organized by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center (ALC) of the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT Abu Dhabi) starting Tomorrow, May 21st, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). The Congress, held for the first time, explores the latest publishing trends and highlights new trends in Arabic content.

 

It is the first conference of its kind for publishing in the Arab world. It seeks to facilitate interchange among publishers, content makers, thought leaders, and entrepreneurs to create their creative platforms. It would be a platform for them to learn about the growth and development areas of various modern technical media for content in all its manifestations.

 

The Congress main session will host Nafez Dakkak, Managing Partner at BLDR and former CEO of the London Office of the Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development, and Abdulsalam Haykal, Majarra’s Executive Chariman, to explore the "Future Prospects for Arabic Content on the Internet" at 6:00 pm Abu Dhabi time.

 

The Congress will take place in ADNEC Conference Room A, and 35 speakers worldwide will participate in its cultural sessions and engage in meaningful dialogues.

 

The Congress begins with an opening speech by Mohammed Al Mubarak, Chair of DCT Abu Dhabi, in addition to the guest of honor, Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, President of the International Publishers Association.

 

Several important figures in the culture and content industry sectors at the Arab and international levels will participate in the Congress, such as Nicholas Carr, a Pulitzer Prize finalist and New York Times bestselling author; Al Kingsley, CEO of Education Technologies Net Support; Bisan Qurban, Director of Product Development at Pearson Publishing; Sami Al-Batati, founder and presenter of the YouTube program Shadow of the Book, and many others in the publishing and content sector.
